Private jet charter

Private jet from London to Ibiza

In short

How much does a private jet from London to Ibiza cost?

London to Ibiza is roughly 800 nautical miles and about two hours in the air, within range of every jet class. It is also the most violently seasonal route in Europe: the same aircraft on the same leg can differ by more than half between May and August.

Private jet charter from London to Ibiza starts from $11,500 on the smallest suitable aircraft. That is an indicative starting price, not a quote: the figure for your trip depends on which aircraft are available, where they are positioned and the date you fly.

What comes back, and how the number was reached

We have no completed flights to point at and no reviews to show you, so instead here is the thing itself: the shape of the reply this route produces, and the arithmetic behind the starting price above. Both are generated from the same data as every other figure on this page.

  • Aircraft, crew and fuel

A live reply replaces this with the quoted price for the named aircraft. VAT, de-icing and peak surcharges are itemised when they apply, before you agree to anything, and nothing is added after you do.

A specimen, and marked as one. The distance, block time and starting price above are computed for this route by the same model that produces every table on this site. The tail number is deliberately not a real one, and the operator, AOC, rating and cancellation terms are shown as the fields they occupy rather than invented — a live reply carries the actual values in each.

How that number is reached

  6. × $2,000–$3,200Wet hourly rate band for the class
  7. + 10%Positioning — the aircraft rarely starts where you do
  8. + $4,300–$9,500Landing and ground handling at both ends
Rounded down to a starting priceFrom $11,500

Computed at build time from the airport coordinates in our airports table and the rate bands in our aircraft table, by the same functions that produce every other figure on this site. The result is deliberately a starting price and not a fare: the largest single cost driver is where the aircraft happens to be that week, and a broker who quotes you one number before checking is guessing at it.

Cabin, class by class

The price table answers what the leg costs. This answers what you are sitting in for the duration — which on a sector of this length is usually the question that decides the booking. Cabin height is the line that matters most: below roughly six feet you spend the flight seated.

04The line

What is in the price

The starting prices on this page cover the aircraft rather than a headline rate with extras bolted on afterwards, and the written quotation you receive is all-in on the same basis. Here is exactly where the line falls, so that the quote contains no surprises.

What the price includes

  • The aircraft, its crew and their duty time for your itinerary.
  • Fuel for the sector, including any repositioning the operator has to fly to reach you.
  • Landing, parking, navigation and FBO handling at both airports — roughly $4,300 to $9,500 on this pair for a heavy jet.
  • Standard catering. Anything more elaborate is quoted before you commit, never added afterwards.
  • Our commission. There is no second invoice and no booking fee.

What it does not

  • Value-added tax where the route attracts it. Intra-EU sectors usually do; most international ones do not.
  • De-icing in winter, which is charged at cost by the airport and cannot be predicted in advance.
  • Peak-period surcharge. On this route the busy months are June, July, August, September, when operators price roughly 35% above the rest of the year.
  • Overflight or landing permits that carry a government fee, which are passed through at cost.
  • Ground transport, hotels and anything arranged for you outside the aircraft.

05Demand

Who flies this route

Group leisure, concentrated into fifteen weekends. Parties of six to twelve are the norm, which pushes most bookings into midsize aircraft or larger, and the return is almost always on a Sunday or Monday — the single most contested departure slot of the European summer.

06Timing

When it is expensive

Outside June to September this is an ordinary two-hour European hop at an ordinary price. Inside it, moving the return from Sunday evening to Monday morning frequently saves more than changing aircraft class does.

07On the ground

Airports and FBOs at each end

Ibiza has limited parking and no 24-hour customs. In peak season aircraft are permitted only a few hours on the ground before they must reposition to Palma or Valencia, so a weekend trip is priced as two round trips for the aircraft rather than one. That is the main reason the summer premium here is steeper than anywhere else in Europe.

08Verify, do not trust

Everything on this page can be checked by someone else

Once we name the operator flying you, you can confirm its audit status and the aircraft’s registration without asking us anything. Here is where, and here is what we commit to in the meantime.

The audits

  • Confirms whether an operator holds an ARGUS Gold, Gold Plus or Platinum rating, and when it was last audited. It says nothing about price or availability.

  • Lists operators that have passed a Wingman audit. An operator absent from it is not necessarily unsafe — plenty of good operators carry ARGUS or IS-BAO instead — but an operator claiming Wingman status should appear here.

  • The same directory at the higher standard, which adds recurrent crew and aircraft checks.

  • IBAC publishes the standard and its three stages but does not run a public lookup, so IS-BAO registration is evidenced by the operator’s certificate rather than by a search. Ask for it; a registered operator will send it without hesitating.

The aircraft registers

  • FAA N-number inquiry

    N — United States

Confirms that a US-registered tail number exists, its make and model, its year and its registered owner. If the aircraft offered to you does not appear, stop.

  • UK CAA G-INFO

    G — United Kingdom

The United Kingdom civil aircraft register: type, year, registered owner and operator.

  • The Irish register, which carries a large share of European-based business aircraft.

  • A register used almost exclusively by privately owned business aircraft.

  • Another common register for corporate aircraft, particularly larger types.

These are other people’s services and we do not control them. Every link was opened and confirmed on . If one of them has moved since, tell us and we will fix it — and in the meantime, ask us for the operator’s certificate directly.

While you are deciding

  1. Nothing is charged before the aircraft is confirmed.

You receive the operating carrier’s legal name, its AOC number and the aircraft registration in writing before any invoice or wallet address is issued. If those three things are not in front of you, you have not been asked to pay yet.

  2. One commission, inside the price you were quoted.

Our margin is already in the number you agreed to. There is no second invoice, no booking fee added at the end, and no separate charge for arranging the flight. If the total moves after you have accepted it, the reason is a change you asked for.

  3. If the operator cancels, you choose the remedy — not us.

Aircraft go technical and operators occasionally fail. When that happens before departure you are offered a replacement aircraft on equivalent terms or a full refund, and the choice between them is yours. We do not get to decide that a substitute was good enough.

These form part of our terms of business. If any of them changes, the change is dated there rather than made quietly here.

10Questions

Questions about this route

What is an empty leg flight?
An empty leg is a repositioning flight an aircraft has to make anyway — flying empty to collect its next passengers, or home after a drop-off. Operators sell those seats at 25% to 75% below a normal charter. The trade-off is rigidity: the route, date and often the departure window are fixed by someone else’s trip, and the flight can be cancelled if the original charter changes.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Four to six hours is usually enough for a domestic or intra-European leg if an aircraft is already positioned nearby. Intercontinental flights need longer for crew duty time, overflight and landing permits. The genuine constraints are seasonal: Nice and Ibiza in July, Geneva in ski season, and Riyadh at any time because of permit lead times.
Can you move a large group — a team, a crew, a wedding party?
Yes. Above roughly 16 passengers the aircraft moves from a business jet to a VIP airliner such as an ACJ319 or a BBJ, which carry 18 to 50 people in a private configuration. For a sports team or a film crew the deciding factor is usually baggage and equipment volume rather than seat count, so send the equipment list with the request.
