How that number is reached
Computed at build time from the airport coordinates in our airports table and the rate bands in our aircraft table, by the same functions that produce every other figure on this site. The result is deliberately a starting price and not a fare: the largest single cost driver is where the aircraft happens to be that week, and a broker who quotes you one number before checking is guessing at it.

05Demand
Almost entirely leisure, and heavily concentrated between December and February when the Maldives are dry and the Gulf is pleasant. Groups are usually four to eight with a lot of luggage, which matters more here than passenger count: a full cabin plus diving equipment can push a midsize aircraft past its comfortable payload.
06Timing
The last ten days of December are the most expensive of the year on this route by a wide margin. Late April, at the shoulder of the season, is roughly half that.
07On the ground
Parking at Velana is severely limited. Most aircraft drop passengers and reposition to Colombo or Bangalore to wait, and that ferry cost is inside every quote to the Maldives — it is the main reason a four-hour flight here costs what a six-hour one costs elsewhere. Onward transfer to the resort is by seaplane or speedboat and is arranged by the resort, not by the aircraft operator; seaplanes do not fly after dark, so a late arrival can mean a night in Malé.

08Verify, do not trust
Once we name the operator flying you, you can confirm its audit status and the aircraft’s registration without asking us anything. Here is where, and here is what we commit to in the meantime.
The audits
Confirms whether an operator holds an ARGUS Gold, Gold Plus or Platinum rating, and when it was last audited. It says nothing about price or availability.
Lists operators that have passed a Wingman audit. An operator absent from it is not necessarily unsafe — plenty of good operators carry ARGUS or IS-BAO instead — but an operator claiming Wingman status should appear here.
The same directory at the higher standard, which adds recurrent crew and aircraft checks.
IBAC publishes the standard and its three stages but does not run a public lookup, so IS-BAO registration is evidenced by the operator’s certificate rather than by a search. Ask for it; a registered operator will send it without hesitating.
The aircraft registers
N — United States
Confirms that a US-registered tail number exists, its make and model, its year and its registered owner. If the aircraft offered to you does not appear, stop.
G — United Kingdom
The United Kingdom civil aircraft register: type, year, registered owner and operator.
EI — Ireland
The Irish register, which carries a large share of European-based business aircraft.
M — Isle of Man
A register used almost exclusively by privately owned business aircraft.
VP-C — Cayman Islands
Another common register for corporate aircraft, particularly larger types.

While you are deciding
Nothing is charged before the aircraft is confirmed.
You receive the operating carrier’s legal name, its AOC number and the aircraft registration in writing before any invoice or wallet address is issued. If those three things are not in front of you, you have not been asked to pay yet.
One commission, inside the price you were quoted.
Our margin is already in the number you agreed to. There is no second invoice, no booking fee added at the end, and no separate charge for arranging the flight. If the total moves after you have accepted it, the reason is a change you asked for.
If the operator cancels, you choose the remedy — not us.
Aircraft go technical and operators occasionally fail. When that happens before departure you are offered a replacement aircraft on equivalent terms or a full refund, and the choice between them is yours. We do not get to decide that a substitute was good enough.
